Tip 1 and Tip 2
First, I wouldn't recommend cutting up your model sheet like that. At least not first thing. In many cases, its a good idea to cut out only the parts you are immediately assembling. I can think of many reasons to not chop up your parts like that, its not something I would suggest to a beginner. Tip 2 basically suggested free hand cutting of long straight edged parts. Why would you not suggest using a straight edge? I would...and always do. Especially to a beginner. As I said, I didn't bother watching any more.

If you don't already know how a Sherman Tank can unplug your toilet,
then you need a lot more help than a youtube video!

I'm really confused...I was thinking of the WW2 Sherman Tank, but a quick google search shows that it is not quite that...oh well.

By experience and tips from this forum. Check out various build threads even if they aren't from your favorite subject area and you frequently find useful methods that translate over to other areas. One important thing is not to rush the cut as far as I'm concerned. I do all of my cutting free hand, but very very slowly.

With the new changes at photobucket, many of these threads will become useless soon. I am hoping to repost some of the build threads I have done in past years. But that will take a lot of time and effort.

True. PootBucket has ruined everything in sight. Some where I have an old account with them but don't remember what was still there. It was nothing worth fretting over as I had nothing of value there. I only used it to post photos of my builds on occasion so I've lost very little with the change and I WILL NOT PAY THE RANSOM. They can eat dog droppings and die.
