I use common or garden 160g copier paper for just about everything. You can get it from Staples or any specialist stationery shop.
My glue of preference is tube UHU. For large areas I use the bottled UHU which comes with a spreader device under the cap. Occasionally I will use white PVA craft glue for when UHU is not appropriate, such as making a glue fillet to strenghen the attachment of delicate parts. Hope this helps.
