EZ line

Some time ago I came across EZ line, a very thin and elastic line suitable for rigging of biplanes and ships.
Now a question comes up: does anyone have any experience with this, especially with regard to durability? Any comments and information welcome!

I used it on the Mauretania Diderick. It's very nice and easy to work with.
The lines are very tight.

Built this one last year so durability isn't yet known

I have used it on a number of aircraft models to simulate aerial cable

It can be a bit fiddly to use, and needs good anchor points.

My only criticism is that in cross section it is flat rather than round.

Would you like me to send you a sample to play with?

Tim

I used it to rig the boat in my avatar. That's not very old. I have used it in other modeling that goes back to the early nineties. Seems to be still flexible. A piece will stretch many times its length. That's why I use it and overlook size and "flatness." I can get my fingers tangled in complicated rigging and nothing breaks. And no sags in rigging. When I want sags I usually turn to phosphor bronze wire. The signal flags in that avatar.

Tim, I already have the material for sale on my site - was asked the question by a customer. Thanks for your offer!

Here is a tiny tutorial I did on rigging a neat WWI paper model. Sometimes seeing it in use is worth it!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DHrREcrIFM

I've used it for years... (3-4?) and today it looks like the day I rigged them. I don't worry about the cross section since it is stretched out that really isn't noticed (to me, anyway!)...

Cheers,
Dan

Interesting. I went ahead and ordered some of the Uschi stuff using money from the SKK fund. (Spending Kid's Inheritance).
