As most of the others have said, don't worry too much about the materials used. I build plastic and paper models both and if plastic people were true purists, they would ban all after market details as resin is not actually plastic and neither are metal parts.As long as it is mostly whatever, then it is in that category as far as I'm concerned. Then again, I don't build for contests any more.

I'd stop vacuuming if I came across a fallen cat.

My 2 cents... if your building techniques only result in frustrations, you are indeed doing it wrong. If you finding that you are enjoying yourself while you see you model come together then you are doing it right.

For me paper modelling was and still is a cheap alternative to all other forms and methods of model building.That also means anything and everything can and should be used to achieve desired effect.

In a way paper modelling is an exercise for your imagination when you try to turn one thing into something else.

...and cats are easy to find in alleys, in fields, scrap yards, chinese food restaurants....
