Cutting inside corners

I've learned a lot of good techniques from this site and my skills have improved significantly, but one thing still eludes me. How do you cut a perfect inside corner? I either cut it too short and have a little tuft of paper from where it rips, or I cut too long and into the part.

How do you all do it?

I always put the tip of the knife at the intersection of the two sides that form the corner and cut away from the corner along one of the sides, drawing the kife blade towards me. I then rotate the part and repeat to finish the corner cut.

If there are two inside corners like when cutting out a U shape, or when there are four inside corners like when cutting out a square or rectangle I start in one corner with the tip of the knife at the intersection of two sides and draw the blade towards me. I stop short of the other corner then rotate the page and place the knife tip in the other corner and draw the knife blade towards me again. This gets the tip of the knife right at the intersection of the two sides and prevents over cutting onto the part. The process is repeated for the remaining corners. It also leave a nice crisp cut corner cut out.

As for me, I first punch a hole in the corner with a needle and then I cut the paper from the hole, moving away from it. This way I'm sure to not cut beyond what is necessary.

I do it even simpler... I just use a chisel blade.

I score any fold lines first. Then, Since I use #16 blades I do the chisel blade bit. I have a desk lamp set at an angle, so I can easily see the score in the glare so I dount overcut.

When I first started out, I used the punch a hole method OR I used a "V" gouger blade (for doing linoleum block print cuts).

my fifth pair of $20 scissors seems to cut to the tip without tearing. The trick is to give up on the other four pair.

I have found cutting away from the corner gives the best results.

I do it as SCEtoAUX, we start at an intersection, we stop close to each other, we turn and we complete the cut. So in all corners. The fundamental trick: cut firmly and without fear, and you will get a clean cut.

I do the same as many here - put the tip of the knife in the corner and pull towards me.

Yep, always cut away from the corner, not into it. For slightly rounded corners I use a hole punch then cut away from the edges of the hole, I have about 20 different sized punches.
