How to bond cardstock to soda can aluminum?
I am constantly trying new things and testing different construction methods to see if I can improve my builds. I know some forum members are like me in this respect, and I enjoy reading about others' successes. I was intrigued by a forum member (whose name slips my mind) who had success using plastic kitchen wrap to laminate layers of cardstock. It's a great idea and does work. I was wondering, though, whether one can bond cardstock to soda can aluminum in a similar manner. This might be a way to add a bit of detail to a model, such as metal panels on the front of a WW1 fighter plane.
I've tried to bond a cardstock pattern to the soda can aluminum with no success so far. The plastic wrap will not stick to the aluminum, even when I rough up the aluminum with a bit of sandpaper. The cardstock and plastic bond well, but not the plastic and the metal.
Has any fellow modeler tried this with success?
