Small Diameter Cylinder Tutorial By Gil 2009

Thought I would resurrect this old thread about making small diameter cylinders.

Gil made a tutorial in 2009 about rolling small diameter tubes.
Sub 1 mm Paper Tubing
The pictures are missing but I found a pdf of the tutorial with the pictures in my archives. Gil gave me permission to upload so I will attach it here.

Sure is And, it ties with my recent post about cylinders And, concerning the draw plate I have bought one for my balsa and tissue planes So, it's something I don't need to get.

Thanks for posting that again, Doug. I remember it, but don't think I saved it at that time. Taken care of now. Wish Gil would be more active again, he always was coming up with trick methods of doing things.

Interesting set of tricks.
In cases like this I prefer to use a small wooden dowel or a wooden skewer or similar.

Is there an advantage to keeping it all paper, or just preference?

I would say it is more of a preference. Some folks like to keep as much paper structure in their paper models as they can. I fall into the what ever will get the job done pack.

@jrw52, yes, your inquiry rattled some brain cells loose concerning that thread and pdf.
