Best way to split an image in a pdf file
Hi all,
I have been wanting to print 2 files I have, they are 16.54 x 23.39 inches, basically two A3 sheets side by side. In the image, I see a nice blank space where I could "cut" the image in half, and make two single A3 sheets. Do I need to edit the files in question in something like Inkscape and make new A3 sized pdf files? I have tried to use the Multiple pages option in Foxit, but instead of just 2 sheets, I get 6, so that method has been abandoned. Let me know what the Pack prefers, and I will report back how I made out Rick

You can highlight the single page (by double clicking on the page in question) that you wish and then print to PDF.

Rick, I have tried with Foxit and can do this.
The problem may relate to paper sizes specified in the file or for the printer. Foxit does allow the printing of an A3 sheet on two A4 sheets. Rhaven's approach is also good - you "Print to PDF" and then actually physically print the resulting new PDF. You can also send me the file if you wish (you have my e-mail) and I can look quickly and see if I can figure out why Foxit is not working in this instance. If there is an issue I can easily split the file into two for you.

It is not permanent split, but if you just need to print it you can use snapshot function:

Yeah, what bigpetr said. The print dialogue in Adobe reader has a choice to print the selected graphic. In Foxit the Snapshot tool might be visible on the Home tab, if not use Alt+7 to get it.
That snapshot feature is good to use if something is not centered on the page and print preview shows that some of the parts at the margins will be cut off. Highlight the area with just the parts by excluding as much of the margins as you can. Print preview will sometimes then show that all of the parts will print on the page size you have with no trimming off of the parts. I just noticed a command in the Foxit print dialogue called Tile Large Pages. Looks like it will print one large page onto two or more smaller pages depending on the page size selected for printing and the original page size in the pdf.

Would it be possible to put it in a scanner and outline one page and scan to pdf, then rotate the paper and do the other side?

Thanks for the all suggestions, my solution was even simpler than what I had envisioned, or has been discussed here.
One evening I was chatting online with John Bowden, and knowing that he has better image manipulation skills than I do, I asked John if he would be so kind, and able to split the files I needed split, he agreed, and in the span of 5 minutes or so, of me sending him the files, John working his magic, and sending the files back to me, I was able to get the two big files split into four smaller files Rick
