Looking for pre-printed "water" for model ship base
I am building a waterline model of the USCG Eagle and would like to display it on a water looking base. I do not want to make simulated water, I am looking for a photo or something like that.
I do remember seeing at one time a resource for pre printed "water" pages for use in dioramas and displays in the forum. I thought I had bookmarked the site but it seems that was incorrect like most things I think about lately. I have tried an abundance of different searches here to no avail. Any assistance is appreciated.

I have used one of the water files from Facet Japan
https://facet.shop-pro.jp/ scroll down until you see a small yellow banner with two pairs of scissors, and click on the 3rd link, Ship Parts if you have it set to translate the webpage automatically

I painted the spar tips on the fore port side one summer. (They are white).
Not that this has anything to do with a water base, but it does not take much to trigger memory lane about the ship. Are you building pre or post racing stripe? The pros and cons of the stripe was quite the debate at the time. Last edited by aansorge; 07-08-2020 at 02:25 PM. Reason: add question. |

Here is a Japanese site with some ship wakes.
https://facet.shop-pro.jp/?mode=f9 You could probably scale them to fit.

Search Bing for "ship water texture" you'll get quite a few overhead views of calm and wake water.
Googles image search isn't as good as Bings I find, but the results should be similar. heres a nice calm water one: https://www.hilldickinson.com/sites/...amp=1480152551

Problem solved because of your responses, thanks to everyone.
aansorge: This is post racing stripe and I believe she looks much better with the stripe. I will make sure I paint the white tips on the spars, it should be considerably easier on a 1:250 scale than in real life. airdave: The link you provided is exactly what I was looking for.
