What is the best way to store models till they get built?

Curious about this, can't seem to find an answer but have only searched a bit. Right now I have them sitting flat on a shelf or other flat surface. Stacked about 6-10 inches high. Just curious what the best methods are for keeping them flat, etc. Anything wrong with putting them in a filing cabinet vertically? if I can keep them flat? They Take up a good bit of space, especially the A3's.

Flat in ventilated cardboard box like ones for documents.

Don't store it in attic, dry ventilated basement is best imho.

Paper, especially thicker better quality card, doesn't do well with rapid changes in temperature.Humidity of course is a paper killer,so are pests and some cats/dogs.

Check with some librarian/office clerk how they store documents.Same principles apply to card models.

For the A3 or larger kits, get a storage tub that is wide, and not high, that might slide under a bed, I have a few that I bought after Christmas(ornament boxes) and these I can stack as well

All good advice. With regard to vertical storage, in addition to avoiding moisture and extremes of temperature, I think the most important consideration is to avoid bending by insuring that the models are kept upright and not allowed to lean over - either by insuring that they are kept snug up against each other, or by using hanging file folders.
