Finally a Toolbox!

After many years of having my tools spread all over the work bench, and often falling off of it, I finally decided to make a toolbox. I had some scrap 3/16" plywood and a free Saturday so it was a go. The box is 10 x 4 1/4 inches. It is long enough to hold colored pencils, wood dowels, paint brushes, clamps and other paraphernalia that I don't have in the partitioned sections. The partitions are not the same size in order to maximize the space for all of the tools though not all sections are dedicated. The one with the glue will probably be replaced with the aforementioned dowels/pencils/brushes when I'm shaping and edge coloring. I'm happy with the results and hopefully it will make me more efficient.

Dear RKMS:
Looks like you can even put the glue bottle upside Down.
Nice.

Love it. Will likely do something similar. I spend almost as much time rummaging for the needed tools in my old wooden cigar box as I do using the tools.

That's great - small, practical and very compact!

I use PVC tubes in a similar fashion - I will post a picture later after I get home this evening.

I have chests and chest of tools from a lifetime of modeling. However, That would be a good way to contain what I'm using for the current project. Would keep them from overwhelming my cutting board. Nice job.

Very handy, Bob!

What are the orange devices with the brass studs on the sides?

Don

That orange thing is a knife sharpener and honer. The honer part (white rods) is showing - flip it upside down and you have the sharpener. The studs are simply a chain so you can hang it if you wish. I got it at Lowe's or Home Depot.

Don,

that is a handheld knife blade sharpener, with the chain to hang it with over one end
