Tip Tips
Or, top tips for my bloke mates.
In our hobby, we deal with quite sharp instruments. In my other hobbies, I do as well. Whether your cutting paper like Pericles, or cutting food like Gordon Ramsey, eventually you make a trip to the hospital. If you're like me, they give you this silly little brace to help protect the "tip" you just removed. Which is obviously made for a toddler. This medieval torture device, designed to elicit confessions worthy of the Spanish inquisitions, does nothing but put more pressure on an already exposed group of nerve endings. So, the mechanic in me says "I can do better". Noting the size of my medical dressing wrapped finger, went to my tool kit, and grabbed a socket somewhat larger than the aforementioned finger. Placing this in the "confession" device, I "rescaled" the end to a more mature finger size. After forming the "protective" device to the adjusted size, I find it no longer adds excessive pain pressure to the finger wound. I hope this "little" tip comes in handy if you ever need it!

Well done, sir.
Now, can you get dentists to stop using a sharpened pointy tube for suction ...

For some reason, when Ray mentioned getting a socket slightly larger than his wrapped finger, I imagined him sticking the socket onto the end of his finger and using that for protection. A secondary advantage would be the ability to tighten and loosen small nuts and bolts.
