Lasercut and machine cut parts

I keep seeing mention of Lasercut frames or formers.

Is this a service that is available somewhere
or are these just extra parts you have purchased somewhere

or are you all relatives of Goldfinger and have table lasers at your disposal?

also, I have seen these new "craft cutting" machines available
at Michaels and Walmart and Scrapbooking Suppliers.

I guess they are primarily for cutting out predesigned shapes in paper and plastics for use in scrapbooking...
but are some of your "card modelers" using these machines?
and how exactly?

AvantCard does custom laser cutting and already produces products for paper models. The craft-cutting machines are geared toward scrap booking and greeting card making. I am not sure they are accurate enough for our hobby and I also have the impression they use pattern software specific to the greeting card and scrapbook world. I know they have been briefly discussed here and on Z but do not recall anyone finding a way to use for our stuff.
