That's fantastic Eric...
My granddaughter loved her 'Nemo' so much she kept it on her bedside table and was so devastated when she squashed it with a book, I had to make her another one :D

she had alot of fun and when she gets back from dance class later this afternoon, she wants to finish working on it. My wife loves the fact that paper modeling can be a family project. This is something that I will try my best to become a family activity!!)

The cutting mats you borrowed from your wife are probably from a sewing shop and designed for cutting fabrics with a cutting wheel. They are harder than mats at artist/drafting supply stores for use with stencil knife.

Hi Eric and Hello fellow builders

Hi Eric
Thanks for the post. I just started paper modeling, the Cassini spacecraft off the NASA web site. OK it is not the best model in the world but I wanted to see if I could work my way through a build and what tools and materials I may need for any future builds. I too just bought a 24" x 18" Hobbico cutting mat. Since I was a wee lad I had always thought "why?" Now I have used one I will never go back to cutting on anything else. Wife's happy therefore, I'm happy. Win Win situation. :D

Cheers Eric and good luck with your paper modeling.

Jim
