Right, here is the first build of the Blue/Gold Atlas:

There IS a hipjoint and I will add a torso joint as well. Not sure if I can manage shoulder joints as well, but it should be possible. But it looks more interesting in motion rather than just standing around, because a not moving Mech is a dead Mech! And I'll do the edge coloring last, to minimize handling.

Finished the torso part:

I made some changes to the tabs and unfold Tirick, I think it will be easier to build once I send you the file, if that is okay with you.

That is a nice, clean build Legion. ! really like the colouring.

Well, my holidays are done, and I've built the Cat:

Once more I've used a CDN penny for comparison. It is a little over 18mm wide. This build went quite well, despite some of the tiny pieces (the toes in particular). It gives me hope for the Urbanmech, which I will be tackling soon, perhaps this afternoon if time allows.

The textures, I think, turned out quite well, the cockpit panes are sharp enough against the white.

I'll post this up on my site sometime today: Home

Enjoy,
Tirick

If possible, could you also post a layered texture file, for those who wish to recolor? Like one layer with the details and lines and the other with surface effects?

On the Cat, i think the cockpit/front torso should be a little more bulbous (but not as much as the MC2 model). It looks a lot like the MWO Cat now (MechWarrior Online | BattleMech 5 - Catapult)

I can look into adding a 'lines only' file, yeah.

This is the image I based the Cat on:

I did redesign most of the torso from the MC2 model as I did not feel it matched the 'canon' images (above) well enough. It was not based on the MWO model though. I did make my own model (the first attempt) based on the MWO models but I never got around to texturing it. It is a LOT smaller too as I made it only 12 m, instead of the current Cat model's 16.

Well, the Urbanmech is buildable, although only just. Any smaller would have to be 2d flat elements. As it is I made a few build errors, the dome is a little flattened for example.

I've been presenting these 'as is'. Normally I would be touching the edges up with paint to elimate some of the cut edge error.

At any rate, I have a few modifications to make, although I may post this up tonight on my site.

Enjoy,
Tirick

Yeah, the head/mask is a particularly hard bit. I suggest studying the mesh in Pepakura Viewer as it lets you see better how it fits/aligns. Looks good so far!

Legion,
I've updated the .zip files on my site to include the blank (lines only) texture as well. All future releases will include this.

Thank you,
Tirick
