Many thanks ssmeier, I really want to use sketchup if possible, as I find it a lot easier to use than metaseq. Looks a detailed process but i will give it a go.

I just checked the link and downloaded the file with no problem. ( right-click and save as).... but this would still be a nightmare even with one of my simplest models. Still hope to find something that will actually help and not mace more work for myself! Still dreaming I guess!

i use the plugin flattery for sketchup and it works great for unfolding
