SketchUP UV mapping solution - Can be used to unfold paper models

As a 3D modeler who creates models for a game company, I use SketchUp to make the models and then use Ultimate Unwrap3D for the texture UV mapping process.
However using UU3D is a painful process (to me at least) and I sought a method of unfolding within SketchUp itself.
Granted there are a couple of unfolding plugins for SketchUp, these plugins didn't retain the assembled model.
Now I model and texture map in SketchUp and apart from Photoshop for texture editing I don't need other unfolding applications.
The link below goes to a tutorial I put together to solve the problem I had. As I primarily use SketchUp for my 3D modeling, I also use it to unfold for paper models as per the model in the image:

Very cool! Thank you for the link!
It still works fine.

I am just learning how to use SketchUp and so far I find it very intuitive.
I was quite surprised that's it's so easy to learn and use.
You can be modeling in just a few minutes of practicing the basic skills.

Thanks again!

Russell

Sorry for the gigantic bump, but I sent a personal message to the original creator of this thread, and he didn't reply. Also, his last log-in was quite some while ago. I am mainly posting this to ask if anyone has the "SUUVMAP.pdf" from the link provided. The link seems to be broken once it reaches the final destination. I really need a simplified UV-Mapping solution, and I would appreciate if anyone had this. Thank you!

I had a copy on my hard drive. I uploaded it to my Microsoft SkyDrive public folder. The PDF is 15 pages and 846KB in size.

If the link does not work, Private Message me with your email and I can send a link to the SkyDrive file in an email to you.
