Blender/Gimp combo tutorial....

OK! I have completed my basic blender part of this tutorial. It goes as far as creating a very simple rectangular model and exporting it for use in GIMP. I am looking for someone willing to walk through it and comment on weak areas. I wont be offended. I am new to blender and gimp too and want this to be good!

Claudio - you cannot apply ;) I want it to be someone without very much experience with blender. I am going to ask you to proof my final document for any improvements!
thanks
Chris

All right. If I can say, the more the pictures the better the tutorial.

All done with the texturize in GIMP part :) all thats left is the pulling the texture into blender part! :)

Re: Blender/Gimp combo tutorial....

I am at the tail end of this.... got a bit sidetracked by the marek marathon :)

I am having a problem I cant quite figure out... I have no problem importing the texture into blender and viewing the 3d model with the texture but when I take a picture (render) it then the texture does not show... what am I missing? I will poke around some more when I can.
Thanks!
Chris

Re: Blender/Gimp combo tutorial....

This is a common trouble for beginner... ;D

1) Give a new material to your solid: with the solid selected click on the sphere icon and click on add new material.

2) Tell Blender to show the texture: click on TexFace button.

That's it!
