laminated propellers

I read, some times ago, an interesting post by Leif Ohlsson about building laminated propellers.

May someone remember this post and can help me?

Many thanks

Bernhard, thanks for helping out, and good to see your avatar again (long time, yes...?)

Philippe, see also the downloads section:

Sabre-shaped vintage prop, 1/16 scale
Sabre-shaped vintage prop, 1/33 scale
Sabre-shaped vintage prop, 1/48 scale
Sabre-shaped vintage prop, 1/72 scale

Very nice as these props are, I would still encourage you to have a look at this one:

Simplified laminated prop (1/16 & 1/33)

Personally, I think that this is the way to go for kits. I was so pleased when I realized that this is what all the prop work boiled down to; namely the realization that a propeller in practice is just two surfaces twisted around a center hub. Study it, and you will see what I mean...

The simplified prop came out at the end of the thread, in this post and the following. Curt (the "Ashville Angler") demonstrated beautifully well that it really works in this thread.

I'm so glad you found this interesting, Philippe!

This particular post of Leif's (in my opinion) is by far one of the best written and demonstrated articles I have seen and read more than once. What Leif has made for us in his post will help us all for a long time to come and the young modelers who will carry on long after most of us have moved on. It is mind inspiring. Thank you Leif for being there for us. Great piece of work. wc
