Wow! How have I missed this thread up until now? The only thing I could say the whole time reading this thread was "absolutely amazing" over and over:D
Some inspirational work here, congrats.

I agree, masterful work. I use to collect WWI Airfix 1/72 models, so I know just how small this can get. Your tutorial has been the best I have seen bar none. I have not built any FG models, but after seeing what you have done with this classic bird, maybe I need to take another look. I for one look forward to more from you Doc. Thanks for sharing this with us.:DRick

Terrific step by step tutorial! Thank you. It looks intimidating, but with your tutorial thread as I guide I think I might be able to muddle through. Now my only decision is which of my collection of WWI birds to build first. I think I'll go thru the files, and pick one based on the rigging - how weird is that?

May I suggest the Fiddlers Green Curtis Hawk as an excellent kit. Also the FG Nieuport 28 or 17. All single bay biplanes of simple design with rigging on the easy side. The Hawk does have challenging wheel spats.

I have created a PDF of the tutorial, but at 1.3M the Forum won't allow me to upload it.

Downloaded the Nieuport 28 from FG, now I just need to find the Tippet. I will post photos. I might add the little kit of the 28 is very detailed and should build into a nice WWI bird of prey.:DRick

I just want to mention that John manned the FG table at the Virginia convention (along with Pierre and occasionally myself), and John's models are simply outstanding to see in person.
