This is an old, not to be had any longer, free "Kampfflieger" 1/72 scale download of the British Avro Rota autogyro, which in turn is a license-built Cierva C.30. It is rescaled & repainted into four different versions, with the kind permission of the original author, Roman Vasilyev.
The kit includes a full life-story of one particular such autogyro, the G-ACCU, which went through an original blue & white scheme in the 1930s, a RAF camo scheme during WWII, and a silver & blue scheme after the war, in which state it is preserved today. All three color schemes are modeled, with additional insignia for another blue & white autogyro used by the Scotland Yard during the 1930s. The kit includes high-quality photos & color profiles of the originals, including a rare period photo with personal comments by the photographer for this kit, plus some basic autogyro history pertaining to the type. Read more about this and similar models, plus more about autogyros, in the thread "Reworking aircraft models by other authors into 1/87 scale". Print on 5x7” (13x18 cm) paper for a nice large picture postcard size kit. Or print two pages per sheet on ordinary A4 or Letter size paper. Only the two kit pages of each model need to be printed on photo paper (one A4 or Letter size sheet). View other pages on screen to be able to follow links to sources. |
