This is a half-size version of the big ISS already reduced to save you ink and reduce the parts count for the modules and trusses. Scale 1:80; desk model level detail. This should be an easy build that can fit in a normal room - completed model should span 4 feet across the truss, 3 feet long and 3 feet high across the solar arrays.

The armature could be fashioned from 1/2 inch (nominal) PVC tubing, but will require some adjustment for the diameter. Alternate armature can be built from 3/4 inch dowels pinned together with smaller dowels.

This would make a good project for a group or class - each member constructing individual modules to be joined on an armature or with slip rings to allow re-configuration.
