This is a redraw/recolor of Bruno's 1:300 F-16 rescaled to 1:200.
For this one I ported a livery Bruno made for the original 1:300 to this slightly enlarged and more detailed version. The flags are unchanged from the 1:300 version. This aircraft was modified in the early 80ies a a testbed for the F101 engine (which later gave birth to the F110). It was labelled F-16/101 on the tail. This first FSD F-16A plane still exists even if it can't fly anymore. The USAF has been using it since the mid 1990ies as a recruitment tool and it's currently painted in Thunderbirds colors with folding wings and a tail that collapses into the fuselage (for easier transport). Edit 2018-04-17: I updated the file with the parts needed to build it as the F-16/101. The GE F101X DFE was an evolution of the engine of the B-1A and led directly to the F110 that powers the blocks 30/40/50/60. There's a build thread here (in french) History of this airframe at F-16.net |
