After the 2 YF-16, the USAF ordered 8 FSD aircraft for use in full scale development: 6 F-16A (75-0745 to 75-0750) and 2 F-16B (75-0751 & 75-0752). They had a long and eventful life. FSD #1 is available elsewhere in prototype colours.

Here are 4 others in grey camo:

- F-16A FSD # 2 (75-0746) in a monochrome grey camo, optional tail for FSD # 5 (75-0749)
- F-16B FSD # 8 (75-0752) in a monochrome grey camo

FSD # 5 was later rebuilt as the F-16XL single-seater.
FSD # 8 became the F-16/79 for a while (re-engined with a GE J79) before returning to the F100 and being used for CAS testing in an overall 3-tone green camo.

- F-16A FSD # 3 (75-0747) in a non-standard 3-tone grey camo
- F-16B FSD # 7 (75-0751) in a non-standard 3-tone grey camo

FSD # 3 crash-landed in october 1980 and was rebuilt as the F-16XL two-seater.
