Here are an F-15A and an F-15B in the markings of 5th FIS from Minot AFB, North Dakota.

In October 1979 the former Air Defense Command and its Fighter Interceptor Squadrons (FIS) was integrated into the Tactical Air Command as ADTAC (Air Defense Tactical Air Command). In December 1985, ADTAC was inactivated and replaced with a newly reactivated 1st Air Force. (the optional air intake/engine has the badge of the 1st AF).

The 5th FIS converted from the F-106 to the F-15 in 1984 but only flew the Eagles for 4 years. It was inactivated in July 1988. Nowadays, the 5th Flying Training Squadron is part of Air Force Reserve Command and flies T-1A, T-6A and T-38 from Vance AFB, Oklahoma. It works with the active-duty 71st FTW of AETC.

The other F-15A/B units of ADTAC didn't last much longer. 318th FIS disbanded in December 1989 and 48th FIS in 1991. They had lost their colorful tails by 1988, replaced with the tail codes LY (48th FIS) and TC (318th FIS). The 48th Flying Training Squadron now flies the T-1A Jayhawk from Colombus, Mississippi and is part of AETC. The 318th hasn't been revived.

The 57th FIS (based in Iceland) had a slightly different fate, getting F-15C/Ds instead of F-15A/Bs in 1985 and the IS tail code. It lasted until 1995.

These are recolors of Scissorsandplanes's F-15 Eagle in 1:300.

Now with landing gear!

edit 2020-08-14: and now with missiles too (1:200 files). I also corrected a typo (1st Air Force superseded ADTAC in 1985, not 1975) and moved aft the intakes badges like on the 318th and 48th Eagles. I also added a missile set in 1:300 for these Eagles from the 1970ies to the early 1990ies (no AMRAAMS or AIM-9X for now, just Sparrows and classic variants of the Sidewinder).
edit 2020-08-15: did a minor revision on the inert ASAT missile and added a live version.
