I just made a recolor and modifications on the Scissors & Planes 1/300 scale B-17F turning to E Flying Fortress, bearing the markings of one of the highly decorated crewed bomber of WWII, the "Old 666" (serial no. 41-2666), which probably known for having been armed with unprecedented 19x 50 Cal. Machine Guns (16 in deployment, 3 were reserves) and its reconnaissance action of June 16, 1943.
*I just made modifications on the following - plexiglass on the front by adding the lines which represents the "rebars" - adding the door on the right side of the fuselage, near the right waist gunner's window, - adding the "U.S. ARMY" stencil under the main wings - adding serial no. "12666" stencil on each side of the rudder - the pattern of windows on the front fuselage - Lastly adding the some kind of the machine gun near the front of the pilot's cockpit It might not be the accurate recolor of portraying of one of the famous B-17s during WWII, but I hope you still like it |
