Thanks for the kudos, fellow paperians! The finish on the boat came as a surprise to me. The model as it was printed at FedExExpress was full of detailed color, but subs aren't glossy. When I sprayed it with clear matt, the effect is what you see here.

It was late last night, and I didn't check to see what kind of clear matte I was using, acrylic or VOC. I'll have to check that. The effect was unintended, but I really liked it when I saw the result.

Sometimes, it's better to be lucky than smart! LOL!

Great looking model! It looks simple to build as well (I just downloaded it).
I realy appreciate the photos you posted. It was hard to read those tiny numbers on the tap placements in the hull.

On my to-do list!
It is indeed the Bateau sous-marin by Imagerie d'Epinal Pellerin (France), nr 385 in the series Grandes Constructions, 39x49 cms.

By the way - shouldn't the depth-rudders (if that is word)) at the front end point the other way around? This way, the forces working on them would be tremendous and sudden at any change of direction up or down!

Found the origin for you: Bateau sous-marin Imagerie d'Epinal Pellerin (France)
It is a Grande Construction, nr. 385, 39x49 cms.
I wondered about the size of the sheet. Any idea of when it was first published?

I printed this model to a size 11 x 17 which makes my model quite a bit smaller than the original!

Charles,
Love the sub. I also wanted to say thanks for the vintage models you put in the download section. Your work is right on. I do "renovation " of old prints with Photoshop and I know what's involved. Good work. I just finished Les Zeppelins sur Paris. Great job.
To sum it up, thank you very much.!
Peter
