New (old) lighthouse, "The Hell of Hells"

I just saw the revised thread on the old stone lighthouse and remembered I had an unusual French paper model of an old lighthouse. I think it dates from the 30s. The model is intended to be constructed without glue and even has instructions for adding an electric light.

The lighthouse really exists, here's what Wikipedia has to say about it:

Ar Men ("the rock" in Breton) is a lighthouse at one end of the Chaussée de l'Île de Sein, at the west end of Brittany. It shares its name with the rock on which it was erected between 1867 and 1881. Ar Men is one of the best known lighthouses because of its isolated situation and the considerable difficulties its construction has presented, and the danger in evacuating its personnel. Considered as one of the most challenging workplaces by the community of lighthouse keepers, it has been named "The Hell of Hells".

Here's a half size image of the model and some photos of the real thing. PM me if you want the full size version.

Took a huge pair of balls to make that trip from ship to light house didn't it? Where would you find people like that today to make that trip other then crazy teenagers? Nothing against the the youth of today. I'm just saying it took a pair. OMG!!! wc

It's true... between Patricia and Toto, much has been done. Once I quit my day job, though, I'll have a chance. ;-)

Definitely NOT a problem Patricia

Your staggering site has so much already! I figure would take at least another 50 years for me to build everything and do justice to them. It is just so generous of you to share your archive for now and for future paper modelers as well
