Question French Carousel - Has anyone built this?

Am going to build this for my wife. I don't read French and this is quite new to me. Has anyone built this (Used the forum search but came up with nada). Or does anyone have any suggestions. Already printed on matte photo paper and gloss coated.

Ummm? You just might need to specify which model on that one Micheal. If you google(or Bing) it you'll find there are just a few paper carousels available out there.

I'm also interested in case you have found one that's more suitable to build in 00 scale than any I've found. I'm only interested in realistic model rides not the many stylised toy like ones.

Hmmm. Sorry, that's a new one on me (So I've filched it ) It looks to be an effective ornament, and the pieces are all letter keyed, so it shouldn't prove too difficult to build.

I do already have Chandler's Galloper, which is probably as good as they come for a Horse Carousel, but what I really, really want is a Chair-o-plane like this ...

or even this will do ...

But needless to say, these are both plastic.

John,

I googles "chandlers galloper carousel" but all I got were images of real stuff. Do you have a link to the kit / toy even if it is plastic?

Regrettably Pete Chandler's paper models are no longer available to buy. During his brief membership here his models were pirated and appeared all over eBay and the Chinese sites, and he got very upset about it. Just a few of us did manage to buy complete sets before he closed down his website. Pete is/was a keen live steam railway modeller and the fairground was only ever a one-off thing on the side to him, so I doubt that it will ever be re-released.

Amusement Park...

Story of my life, a day late and a dollar short. I found that Corgi made a toy in 1:50.

Oh, yeah! Just a small point to finish ... That model you have Micheal represents Liberty Horses performing in a Circus, not a Fairground Carousel. Horses on a roundabout does automatically translate to Carousel to most people, and you did say you don't speak French ... so you're forgiven.

And just in case anyone's wondering ... the term Liberty Horse means it performs untethered. ie: there's no man in the middle holding a running rein.

Looks like a beautiful, and complex, model, Michael.

I hope you figure it out and get it built. Would love to see it.

There are quite a few carousels out there, but this is an automata of a theater with a circus theme. I think with a little care and looking at the inset drawings, you should be able to work it out.

I might try to find a version of this that is closer to an original scan. That or decrease the saturation. Colors are a bit bold for my tastes on a vintage model
