Carousel for Flea Circus
I'm in the process of building a flea circus, and I wanted to make a nice carousel for my fleas to pull. I turned to Patricia’s Agence Eureka pages again, and chose this nice Danish model. I modified the images a bit by doubling things up so there wouldn't be any plain paper showing, and had the resulting file printed on 11X17 cardstock at FedEx/Kinko's.
I added some rhinestones so that when it spun, it would catch the light. It spins on a bearing made from a knitting needle and a brass lamp finial cap. I built two, because the first one had the flags flying so it made sense to spin it clockwise, but I glued all the animals and riders in widdershins. Also, the bearing on the first one wasn't very good, and it didn't spin well. Last edited by ridetheory; 12-28-2017 at 02:42 PM. Reason: Left out photos |

Very nice carousel. The video was entertaining.
Here is a place with another carousel. https://mikeandlace.wordpress.com/ca...aper-automata/ Scroll down the page a bit to get to the download. I built it many years ago. There is a mechanism that makes the horses go up and down.
