Hi All,

Thanks to all who offered historical commentary and personal stories regarding the horrors of chemical warfare. I wasn't surprised by the prevailing aversion to this cowardly weapon, but I was by the impact it still has on the families of those who endured these attacks a century ago.

Lest we forget...

Double what TD just said. I never knew my Uncle Frank but everyone said he was a very kind and gentle man. My Aunt Ida never even bothered trying to replace him.

The best account of a gas attack is the poem by Wilfred Owen called "Dulce et Decorum Est".It says everything.

Hi All,

Thank you, Dartlynx, I had not seen that poem before. For those interested, here is a link to the work by Wilfred Owen.

A bitter poem, all the more so for its truth.

Hi All,

And hi, cdavenport. I almost missed your comment yesterday, as I'm working in metal rather than paper right now. It's always something, isn't it? Thanks for your kind words.
