Røverborgen "Ravnerede" Familie-Journal

My finished build of Røverborgen "Ravnerede" from Familie-Journal.

No tourist info like in Thumb Dog's Scandinavian Fantasy brochure .

Looking good with that blue sky in the background. Do you have plans to do the others?

Yes, I have the other ones in Thumb Dog's post plus a few others that I will build eventually.

Right now I am working on the Fairy Princess castle. I have it printed out on A4 size cardstock. It will be a while before it is finished. No more build-till-it's-done sessions.

Next one after the Fairy Princess castle will be one of those watermill models. Something about watermills is compelling. There is a movie called Kurosawa's Dreams (Yume) with a segment called "Village of the Watermills" that is one of my favorite parts of the film.

It's something like a European version of the Chinese landscapes with temples and scholar's pavilions precariously perched high in precipitous mountains.

I like it!

I was taking another look at the Fairy Princess castle last night, too.

I have more than just a little itch to do some more vintage models again

Hi All,

And hi, Doug. I must have been asleep at the wheel, as I missed your thread last week. That's a fine build of your mountaintop compound. I liked building those green, wooden supports that hold the upper cottages to the mountainside. They give the model an added dimension and texture when applied to the stony crag.

It's a long climb to the top, but it's worth the trip.

Score and fold,

Thumb Dog
