Weatherman House Famili-Journal

Here is a finished model called "The House Where The Weatherman Lives" from Familie-Journal. It looks a bit off kilter in some areas. I do not know if that was intentional, the usual problems with hand drawn vintage models, or my contruction. Anyway it gives it a whimsical look to match the title.

I tried transcribing the legend and using machine translation to get the descriptions. Some guess work was used as is evident in some of the translations.
Look at #1 The Four Winds Tower and note the letters used for the four cardinal directions. Must be Danish.

1 The Four Winds Tower
2 The Loom for Sun Gold and Moonlight
4 The Pump House, where the rainy weather was wet
7 The Storm Gaps
8 Perpendicular Chamber, which regulates the April weather
9 Hail Mill
10 The Witch Kitchen for Fog and Mist
12 The Swamp Cellar that arranges street mud and puddles
14 Explosion Chamber for Autumn storms
15 The Color Room, where the rainbow gets colors
16 Twig Chamber for Christmas snow

7 The Storm Gaps
5 The Red Sunset Tower

1 The Four Winds Tower
3 The Oven, where the hottest summer days are served
7 The Storm Gaps
9 Hail Mill
10 The Witch Kitchen for Fog and Mist
13 The Rooster House for Dawn
14 Explosion Chamber for Autumn storms
17 The Freezer for Frost and Cold
19 The Owl's Nest for Night Darkness
20 The Vapor Chamber from which the Gray Weather Days are released

1 The Four Winds Tower
6 Thunder for Lightning and Herring Flashes (far away lightning in clouds).
7 The Storm Gaps
18 The Bell Chamber, from which the sleigh ride is arranged

11 The Secret Room for Sunday Weather.

It was fun to build and translate.

Another bit of humor I missed by not thoroughly learning other languages.

Looks good, sir

What a wonderful model and a great build, SCEtoAUX! The Danes have once again proven themselves the creators of the most imaginative and fantastical models.

Yeah, Tom, it is kind of imaginative.

When I looked at the illustration I wondered why there were such large numbers on the various parts. I then noticed what looked like a legend at the bottom of the cover sheet and decided it needed some more investigation. A few days transcribing and translating and the mystery was solved.
