Somehow, I missed this thread previously.
Many thanks Tom and Thomas for posting these fascinating and historical materials. Don |

"Die letzten Neuerscheinungen!" means "The latest releases!". (An overly literal word-for-word translation would be "the last new appearances".) |

Hi Tom, hi all
may be you're interested: Some of those old models are available as a download at the AGK homepage (AGK = Arbeitskreis Geschichte des Kartonmodellbaus = assosiation for the history of card modelling): Arbeitskreis Geschichte des Kartonmodellbaus (AGK) e.V. - Publikationen des AGK - Download Modellbaubogen At the moment I'm preparing to release the model of the battleship "SMS Nassau". I hope to release it within 2022. Best regards, woody |

Like Don I seem to have missed this thread last year. I was particularly interested to see the model of the Flettner Rotor vessel Buckau. Pages 11 and 10 respectively. The first vessel to be fitted with this form of auxiliary propulsion.
As far as I know there is only one other commercial paper/card model displaying this technology. The 1926 Barbara by Wilhelmshavener. Over a hundred years on and with the present interest in sustainable carbon free energy a few companies are showing renewed interest in it. Though still only installed on a handful of vessels to date. Today we have the advantage of computerisation and satellites, sensors, GNSS and sophisticated weather forecasting Doug |

There is a Junkers W33 Bremen and Junkers G24. Nobody made those models in paper yet.Even in plastic they are very rare.
