ahoy hoy...
Hello all. I stumbled upon this site by accident while researching information about a Mitubishi Zero. I build plastic models (1/72 scale aircraft) but would now like to try my hand at some paper models. Seems like much fun and very challenging. Naturally, I'm a virgin at this so any recommendations to start things off would be very appreciated (I'm thinking some type of aircraft).
Thanks, Ken |

Welcome! Theres a lot free models out there, but I would recommend some of the planes at www.fiddlersgreen.net as some of them are pretty simple for a beginner. Good Luck and again, Welcome!

Welcome Ken! Glad to have you with us. We'd love to see some of your previous work, we have a forum called "Other things we do and make" specifically for other mediums.
I think you'll be surprised at what you can accomplish in paper. You can definitely accomplish a high level of detail. I prefer to work in 1:72 for aircraft as well. Here is my current collection after having given away the other half of it to make more room on the shelf. My signature contains links to closer detailed pics of these. If there's anything specific you're looking for, let us know and I'm sure we can point you in the right direction. If the scale of the kit doesn't match what you want, simply rescale it when printing. Nearly all of my 1:72 kits have been rescaled from another scale.

Welcome, Ken! No shortage of aviation subjects to try. Fiddler's Green is a good starting point - origami folding, good detailing, low parts count. Check out the links section or browse the build threads for more ideas.
