Rocky,
Where in Tennessee are you. I'm going to be in Memphis (actually Cordova) for Thanksgiving.

Red face

I'm in upper east Tenn. Wrong end of state ,But you can UPS me any leftovers.
Seriousy tho' You have some great models ; the Merlin RR is mind blowing!
I've done it in plastic from an Airfix kit (1/32 scale ) The mount is pretty much the same ,but the firewall is nowhere near as detailed. Nor does it have that bit above/forward the prop gearbox. (cowl mount?) Your motor is fantastic , as are your other pics. Thanks for including the thred !
I am humbled................................... inspired too.

Thank you! It's mostly a few modeling skills and a whole lot of persistence. A huge amount of the credit goes to Alin Osarik for doing a superb job of designing the kit. And I still can't imagine building it in 1/33. 1/16 was way small enough!

Rocky, Welcome to our forum.! You may actually live closer to me than any other cardmodeler. I think that my handle says it all. BTW do you live to the North or East of Asheville?

Hello Asheville

Boy! that is close. Less than 50 miles north from you. I used to pass thru every summer on the way to the beach. I like Asheville, and people there seem to know how to drive better than here.
But I've got a strange story about passing through; there's this one red light, ( don't remember the name of the road) it's got a big empty parking lot on the right. I swear this is true , it has been red every time I get to it, and three years in a row I had a flat tire sitting at that red light!!
Now I know it is just coincidence but that third time I prayed just a littel'bit...you know..? Like Asheville wanted to keep me..
It is good to know I'm not alone up here glued to this hobby.

I'll be passing by Bulls Gap in a couple of weeks on my way home from visiting my daughter in Alabama. I have old time friends who moved there from NYS about 20 years ago, so I always make it a point to get off the interstate and stop by to see them. Small world we have here.
