Hello from Germany :)
Hello everyone,
as i talked lately to Wilfried from my current german forum kartonbau.de, he hinted to this forum and so i'm here to join. I'm from Germany (near Dortmund) and have been building card models for a few years. I started as a kid and lost interest when i finished school. My job and other interests left me not enough time to pursue this hobby. With 31, i rediscovered this fine (and fun) hobby and was delighted with the development, that construction and detailling had taken. Absolutely no comparison to the "good old card models" from my youth. Although they retain a certain charme...  Since then, i finished some ship models, like the "Victoria Louise", "Beowulf" "Hohenzollern", "Mellum" and "Zenit" (all HMV). I also built the "Hermann Marwede" and "Planet" from Passat. The 1930 Diorama from HMV was altered by me and i expanded it to a size, where there was room for a dike, a lighthouse and the passenger ship "Königin Luise". Currently, i'm working at the "Santa Inés", also embedded in a small Diorama with docks, warehouses, trains etc. It will take a while to finish this large project, but i'm not in a hurry. I hope to share some thoughts about our mutual hobby here and i'm looking forward to my time here. Best wishes to all of you! Kind regards Lars
