Greetings from Helsinki

Hi @ all!

I am Radek, a passionate paper modeller. Originally from Poland, grown up in Germany and finally landed in the arms of my lovely finnish wife in Finland...

Just recently I remembered my hobby again which I haven't been doing for the last 10 years. So I started with a ship model from the famous polish papermodels "Maly Modelarz" ("Little modeller") "Koga Elblaska" ("Elbing Cog") in the scale 1:100 (metric system in cm) but instead of paper I decided to use balsa wood (for the first time ever I used something else than paper).

My favourite models are historical sail ships but i also made the one or other airplane (2nd WorldWar)...

As soon as i find out how to post pics I can post one of my Elbing Cog.

Hi Radek!
(first I wanted to write: hyvää paivää / hyvää iltaa) but I see you are my Eastern-Europe neighbour (I'm from Каliningrad, Russia). My direction is modelling papercars 1:30 (if you want, please watch http://modelcars29.narod.ru)
It's really pretty to spent time at this phorum but IT REALLY STEALS A LOT OF TIME FROM ONE'S FAVOURITE HOBBY - you will see it. By occasion, tell me more about Finnland in personnel messages, IF YOU CAN (as I know, there are US cars popular a lot IN SUOMI).

Good luck and welcome!

Hello Yuri!

Some beautiful cars you have! As a amtter of fact, my first model ever (it was a papermodel) was some kind of car as well!
I do not remember exactly which one since it is a couple of years ago and I was about 6 years old.. :p
Sure I can PM you about Suomi, and yes, there are a few US-cars on the streets around here. I can try to catch some with the digicam. My brother is also a passionate modelmaker (plastic but also a LOT of papermodels). Maybe I can convince him to join this forum... He has a nice collection of US cars and Muscle cars.

Btw, here another picture I just found about my last paper model I made about 10 years ago. It is one of Hitler's "Wunderwaffe" : 'Horten GO 229 Nurflügler' from the end of the WWII. It actually never flew in Germany, but I think in the US, where it was confused with ufo's in the 50's.. :D The diorama landing strip was made by my brother...
