Hello from Illinois

Just wanted to say Hi. I was a member of the old card models site but never posted. Ran across card modeling about a year and a half ago. Have built a few models and have started a couple. Currently working on the Halinski F-117. I have been working on it when I have time for the last two months and the frame work is about 90% built. I will post some pictures as I go but it will be awhile. I don't have a lot of time due to children and summer projects. I visit all the card modeling sites almost everyday and there is alot of talanted builders and designers. This site is very easy to navigate and I hope it picks up where the old card model site left off.

Thanks,

Mike

Well if it's taken this move to get you to post and say Hi, then great!! The more people who are encouraged to just say hello even, the better!! Welcome

Best Regards,
Julian (Fozzy The Bear)

Welcome - look forward to seeing your builds .
North, middle or southern Illinois? My parents grew up in Southern Illinois before the auto industry lured my dad to the Detroit area in the early '70's.

Well, howdy. I spent a few years north of Chicago in the 1980's and got hooked on the Cubs. I have lost lots of hair since.:D

Cubs? I went to my first ballgame at Wrigley Field in the late 50s. Watched Ernie Banks make a great play at shortstop. Even though I lived on the south side of Chicago (White Sox country), I was and always have been a Cubs fan.

One of my favorite card models is of Wrigley Field. I keep trying to build it, but always screw it up. I figure it's the curse of the goat laying over on me.

I live west of the windy city (Chicago), spent four years in the southern part, sox fan, big Nascar fan (yes I was at the race Sunday).

Ashrunner, even though I am a sox fan Wrigley Field is a good party.

Yes, MAF...Wrigley is. I was part of the Right Field Bleacher Bum crowd in 1969 (until my draft number came up and I joined the Air Force). Been a long time since I was there though.

Family tried to get me back for the race last weekend and for the Brickyard this weekend. Have/had tickets waiting for me for both, but I was unable to make it.

Southern part of Chicago? Does Reavis High mean anything to you? I was (dating myself here for sure) Class of 69.

By the way...I don't like the new stadium for the Sox. Comiskey Park was a lot better.

Ashrunner,

I spent my four years in the southern part of Illinois at SIU. The old Comiskey Park was a lot better I agree. The old Stadium where the Bulls and Blackhawks played was great also. I usually make the Bristol night race but thats pretty iffy right now. When they started the cahase the race just isn't the same.
