Hello from Massachusetts

Hello all,

I'm not new to papermodeling, just to this forum.

My main interest is converting paper model rockets into flying models.

I have converted Ton Noteboom's 1/48 scale Soyuz for flight and that is my model that is shown in the launch photo on his site.

Welcome, Bob! Naturally nano-factured carbon composite makes a great aerospace material - looking forward to seeing more of what you can do with it.

Thanks for the welcome.

I just found this site a few days ago and have been looking at all some of the great models that the forum members are building.

I've been making cardstock rocket models in various sizes the last couple of years to fly on either Quest Micro Maxx or Estes motors. I get altitudes anywhere from 50 ft for the small ones to 1000 ft+ on some of the larger ones.

But in addition, I've also had an interest in aircraft models and ship models (which I find intimidating).

A few years back I bought a Fiddlers Green aircraft CD and have had some success with those but I never felt like I had the skill to tackle one of the bigger, more detailed (and complex) aircraft that I saw for sale.

I also attempted to build the free Admirable ship from Digital Navy which was a disaster. I now see that I was supposed to laminate a lot of the parts onto heavier stock which would have made a huge difference.

So I guess now that I see the errors of my previous attempts, I will try and tackle one of those larger aircraft and make a second attempt at the Admirable model.
