Hello from Wolfe Island

"I am a paper modeler, and I've been addicted to making paper models for almost 4 years now"

(all) "Hello Duncan".

"This is my first time here...its my first meeting, and the coffee is better than I expected. No really"

Enough 12 step crap...

Howdy folks! Glad to have found this new home after card modelers got a little discombobulated.

I hail from Wolfe Island, Ontario, Just off of Kingston. Its the first of the Thousand Islands, and its a great place to live.

Hi Duncan!

Welcome to the fold.:D

Just by coincidence I saw a bit of a documentary the other night about a fellow that sells/operates ultralights in your area. Beautiful scenery out there!

What sort of models do you build?

So am I. And many thanks for a new verb...

Leif

PS. Is it embarrassingly evident that I am saving up to my 10 postings?

...my first ten posts. I am morally against artificially or frivolously inflating one's post count. Then again, I'm pretty G-D amoral, too.

Yes, it is indeed beautiful country this way. Except from Dec-April, when its cold gray, snowy and icy. But that just makes us really really appreciate spring and summer.

I build primarily science fiction paper models, but do some real space ones too. I'm also a fan of armour, and would probably make more tank models if I didn't have three wee laddies. Besides I rarely have the time or patience to do all those danged little wheels and tread parts. I'm the guy who did the Independence War paper models, along with Stephen Robertson, the co-creator of the Independence War games.

The Independence War models must have been quite challenging to transfer over into paper models. Well done!

Myself, I like almost all types of paper models out there (especially SF and aviation), although most of the ones I've built have been buildings of my own design. Someday I'll have time for the other ones I want to put together as well...
