I look forward to your posts to the forum, Al. I google-mapped "Guadalajara, Jalisco" and see it is quite a ways from Michoacan, but near some very large lakes. When I visited, we took a drive to a really large lake with an island in the middle, topped with a statue of Jesus?, I don't know where that is now, but I still remember the climb to the top.
 [Did some further Google work, perhaps Isla de Janitzio?]Seems our flight took us through Guadalajara at some point. My memories fade with time, but I recall visiting a huge market area and thinking "this is something like what New York city must be like - lots of busy people!" I had not been to New York yet, only what I'd seen on television.
