Hello from Veendam, Netherlands

Hi everybody,

My name is Gerrit Postma but on most forums I go by the handle Gungnir.

I'm 59, married, one adult son.

I've been a modeller for as long as I can remember, and really got into paper modelling about six years ago because of a few online competitions.

After I stopped working for health reasons I became the treasurer of a foundation, a charitable organisation.

I decided to upgrade a few of my earlier models and sell them as a fund raiser. Soon i added more buidings, all in the wargaming scale 1:56/28mm (guess what one of my other hobbies is?).

That leaf to request to do them in h0, so I rescaled the Dutch buildings.

Ever since I've been adding stuff on an irregular basis.

An overview of the buildings I designed you can find in this part of my blog/forum/thingy: Gungnirs Stuff :: Stuff I Designed .

The latest was a goods shed, the story of its design is here:

Gungnirs Stuff :: Current projects - goods shed - finished .

Only yesterday I started work on a windmill.

Still needs a bit of work, as you might have guessed. Right now Mrs Gungnir thinks it's a nuclear powerplant.

I plan/hope to do one new building per month - let's see how long that lasts...

Nowadays we offer most models in both h0 and N.

I may be too busy to participate in lots of threads, butI hope to visit often enough to learn new stuff, and to share pics of what I'm doing.

Gerrit

Everybody, thanks for the welcome!

@Billy, The models are nowadays also in the Foundation's webshop, and our webguy just bought us a paper models webshop, but that is still far from full. As always, you don't know how much you got till you have to move it...

@Jerry, I happen too have the book "Molens in Drenthe," would yours be in there?

Gerrit

If you need a wargame building to design, I would be very interested in the Lone House at Bruneval.
This was a major feature of the British raid on the German radar station, 27 FEB 1942.
