That's me
I am new, but only in this forum.
Since several years I take part actively already in other forums in the cardboard model-life. I am 68 years old and concerning the cardboard model building, still not in the least wiser. I am a pensioner for seven years. Before that I was a headmaster at an elementary school in Hamburg for 15 years. For more than 50 years I build cardboard models. Therefore you can see that I relatively early began with the hobby In the field of the cardboard model construction I have no special preference. I simply build everything I come across It only must be well processed graphically. Also about the scale I have no special predilections. So I have, e.g., built. the osprey of Bird Mobil in 1:1 and the nuclear ship "Savannah" in 1:500 of the WHV I can accommodate my many built models in several rooms of our row house Only the lower floor must be kept free. at the request of my woman. At the moment I build the Titanic of Alan Rose. I am glad to come in contact to many cardboard model builders also in this active forum A. Pirling Hamburg Germany Last edited by A. Welcome to the club Mr Pirling.
I'm a;so a member of an other forum (Kartonbau.de) but that can't be a problem. Every where we can learn of each other. I build models for over 50 years too.(the good old time)And i'm lear every day new things. My first model was a Lockheed Conny from Veritas in 1960, A great name in that time in Holland and it willl be come back. I see some of your works before and i'm deep impressed of it. I hope you enjoy here and wish you good luck.

Welcome, Mr. Pirling. I think I recognize your name from another forum. You mentioned that you built the NS Savannah in the past. Where did you find the kit? I have seen the ship on display in Savannah, Georgia (US), and have thought it would make a wonderful ship model. I was stationed with the US Army in Mannheim back in the late 70s, and made an inspection trip up to Hamburg once. It was a scary flight in a light twin U21 airplane during a North Sea storm, but we made it. Enjoy the forum, it has a lot to offer.

Herr Pirling, welcome to our extended family. I have enjoyed greatly your wonderful train models, and es hat mir gern that you have become active in our forum. You will find that many of us have biographies similar to yours. I put together my first paper model back in 1953 or so....cut from the back of a Kellogs cereal box. I look forward to seeing your work posted here.
