Greetings from Ohio, USA

I'm new to the paper model scene. Been building plastic kits off and on for years. But thought I'd try my hand at paper modeling after viewing some of the interesting ones on the web so thought I my get some advice by joining the forums. Have tried my hand on a couple of simple designes using paper, tape and glue. Looking forward to trying cardstock but will need some more experiance before I start anything complex. Regards, Rick

Welcome, Rick! Paper is just another construction medium - but the graphics potential is far superior to any other material. Working with card is easier than with plain paper (except at the smallest scales). Download something you're interested in from here or a free site then just go for it. With paper, if you mess something up you just print out another one and keep going.

Welcome to PaperModelers.com from Sheffield Lake, Ohio.
I am about 30 miles west of Cleveland and there are several other papermodelers in Ohio.

Thank-you all for welcomeing me aboard. And thanks for the link to the Canon site Maj Charles, I went there and downloaded a couple of easy patterns to try out. Most of models there were offered in 2 paper sizes A4 & LTR, not sure what the size of the A4 paper is but I have to go buy some supplies anyway so I'll check it out then. Gonna go to Walmart this payday and buy some new ink, a cutting board, some glue and new cutting blades. My old ones are getting dulled form cutting and trimming plastic kits.

Welcome aboard, Maverick!

I'm from Miamisburg, just a little south of Dayton. Ohio is represented here!

Rick,

A4 is the letter size used by the rest of the world.
It is 8.27" × 11.69" (almost the same as our 8.5 x 11 letter size).
Models made for A4 will usually print on letter size, perhaps with a slight reduction in size.
See: Paper size - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Glad to hear that someone knows where Sheffield Lake is located.
You may be the only one.

Ken
