Hello from Canada
Hello every one, I'm a long standing plastics model builder. Recently I have been intrigued with the concept of paper modeling. One advantage I may have is I own a large format Print shop so I have ready access to some interesting tools. I'm looking forward to learning the in's and out's of paper models.

Ask questions. Everyone here is always ready to help. What types of plastic models did you do?

Welcome to the site!
Large fromat print shop? How big a printer/plotter do you have? Will it do cardstock? Been thinking about creating PDF for wide format printing, was wondering about the availability of shops to print on 2ft x 3ft sheets. I have a couple of printers that can handle sheets that size. Mike |

Trying not to do a blatant shameless self promotion but... seeing you asked I print everything from business cards to vinyl wraps for cars, trucks and boats. My one printer is the HP L25500 6 color 60" latex printer it's a roll fed printer and I print on several heavy weights of card stock. My other printer is an HP Z3200 12 color photo 44" printer used mainly for fine art reproduction on canvas and watercolor papers. I also have a 60" graftech cutter that I could do die cutting and perfing of the card stock with but I have never tested it for that yet. I mainly cut vinyl decals with it. I would be interested is possibly offering a printing service for some of the models but at the moment I'm having issues exporting from Pepakura viewer to an acrobat format. any thoughts would be helpful.

Welcome aboard! Sounds like your models (once you decide on a subject) should be spectacular - looking forward to them.

Not sure if going from a PDO to PDF is possible. Don't use pepakura however and someone that does might be able to help.
Why don't you ask "how to" in the designer helping designer forum. Might also qualify for the softeware forum. Hope that helps. Mike |

Hi pixels,
the best way i know how to convert from PDO to PDF is through the use of a free converter like CutePDF or PDFFill it adds a generic printer (ie.. PDFFill image writer) to your system that you select instead of your normal printer. |
