New Guy Here

Hi all,
My name is Les, I'm 68 (yes 68 ) Been a Model Maker all my life when I could find the time to do so, Started with plastic(don't we all ) from the little plastic bag Airfix kit's to everything plastic, then went on to wooden period ships like HMS Victory etc, But now need to find something to do that is a bit easier than wood as the fingers are starting to seize up a bit, So I thought of paper models, (don't want to give up modelling altogether) This will be a whole new field to me, so I'm expecting to get my self in the poo a few times, So joined a forum where the members seem to know what it's all about,
For work I used to be an engineer making Gears, motor parts, Camshafts etc, And Printed Circuit maker,
And that's about it

Les

Well you are in good company. There are a lot us old timers here along with a nice mix of young people too. Everybody respects everybody. You will find paper modeling a quick learn if you are an experienced modeler. It is just a matter of techinque. Check out the threads in Tips and tricks. You will learn everything from materials to tools and methods. The people here are very creative and resourceful. lso if you can't find something or have a question just ask and you will get a flood of answers. I have been paper modeling since 1980 when I built my first Alan Rose Titanic. There are tons of free models to learn on so pick a subject then ask where to get it. The only thing you have to lose is paper and ink.

Welcome, Les! You should find paper modeling both familiar and a new challenge.

Welcome to the board. There are a lot of models to work on available in the Downloads section tab, upper right. The Links tab has a lot of resources for other models.

Check out this thread by Doris to see what can be done with paper.
