Hallo Katy, welkom! Leuk te zien dat er meer vrouwen bij komen.

Nice to see there are more women joining the forum. Proof that it is not just a man's thing.
Like Billy said, Ask anything, we'll try to help. And, most of all, we're looking forward to see your work!

Have fun!

Katy,
Welcome to our forum !
Torsion with models is a problem for all of us.

That's why I decided to build my ship on a piece of MDF. Just screwed the bottom of the ship (it being a waterline model) on this baseplate :

GPM Prince of Wales, 1/200 waterline model

Welcome and goodluck !

Thanks for the tip, I did not glue the bottom part to a piece of glass or wood, I will keep that in mind!

Hi Katy,

I am a female. I enjoy papermodeling as much as I enjoy working on real cars and even though some people think it is kind of odd, most find it cool. Having fun is not strictly a man thing and that is what papermodeling is all about, FUN! Guys here are all gentlemen and they certainly will not leave a lady in distress if you have any problem or question LOL. Hope to see more of your builds in the future.

Cami

Hello Katy,

I'm also a female; look out for the counter-intuitive ones like me

You can learn something new every day here. I've had some problems with warping on large truck models, particularly one with long frame rails. For some reason I never thought to look it up until I read the post about your ship. I mostly make vehicles but haven't done a boat yet; I would like to build an SS Minnow sometime.

Hopefully you will find this forum and the people here as helpful as I have
