I have just visited a model exhibition here in England and have seen some wonderful paper models. I was an avid Micromodeller in my youth so thought it about time to resurect latent talents, if any still exist. I usually build in wood and metal eg non-flying WW1 aircraft, museum style.
I will be reading any advice and guidance that other members with great depth of experience can hand on to a returner to the fold.

Welcome to the group, Jagman. You will find the paper model has come a long way in the last few years. Alas, that comes at increased kit prices, but paper models are still far easier on the pocketbook than the plastic equivalents...and, in many cases, the paper versions have better detail as well. Enjoy. And, if you look far enough, you will find paper model kits that will fit right in with your liking of museum-quality WW I craft.

Welcome aboard! Museum style sounds like you'll be doing a lot of scratch building. You can do some simpler stuff for relaxation for the "museums" at your local schools and libraries too ...
