Thumbs up What types of models?

Hi,
My initial interest has already been directed by a friend. He is creating a model railway layout which has an airfield on it. It is styled as 1930s so he wants small general aviation models that have yet to be made by plastic mouldings (ie druine turby)! Is there a place somewhere I can look as to find what tooling I should sort to get started -besides tweezers!

Welcome to the site.

Check out the threads in the following sections:
Card Models > Tips and Tricks
Designers Corner > Tips and Techniques

There are some good advice on which basic tools to have as well as some other tools which would be of great help. There are also some advice on rescaling models and the types of paper to use.

What scale is the railroad?

For tools, I have a craft knife with snap-off blades, a cutting mat, a pair of small scissors with small sharp point and curved blade interface, toothpicks to apply glue and an assortment of semi-sharp plastic items to go over fold lines to make them easier to manage

Welcome! Plenty of ideas in the tip and tricks or at Card Modeling FAQ . You can also find a wide range of models you won't find in other media - and you can recolor if needed to fit the layout.
